Emmanuel Mikros

Professor, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens

Emmanuel Mikros is a Chemist and Professor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Athens. He did his Ph.D in Chemistry at the Université Paris-Sud (Paris XI) in 1988 and then joined the University of Athens. He was also a Research Fellow at the Universität zu Lübeck, (Germany), and at INRA, Nantes, (France). He was awarded the DAAD (Germany, 1996) and Marie Curie (European 1994) Fellowships.

He is co-author of 120 peer reviewed scientific publications (H-factor 30). He has participated in over 20 funded research and projects by National and EU organisms. He is also the president of the Hellenic Society of Medicinal Chemistry. Emmanuel Mikros was an invited speaker in more than 40 international and national meetings and universities and he has participated in the organising committee of 7 international and national scientific congresses.

Prof. Mikros leads a research group focused on NMR spectroscopy, NMR based Metabolomics Drug Discovery, Structure Based Drug Design.
