Haralambos Stamatis

Professor, University of Ioannina

Since 2001, Professor Haralambos Stamatis is the director of Biotechnology Laboratory at the Department of Biological Applications and Technologies of the University of Ioannina. His research in the area of enzyme biotechnology and nanobiotechnology is focusing on development of “green” bioprocesses and biotransformations  for the production of high-added value products, the development of nanobiocatalytic systems and nanobiodevices and their application in biocatalytic processes, sensing and drug delivery systems.

He is the author of more than 150 publications in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings (h-index 38, citations>3800). He has also published monographs in the area of biocatalysis, nanobiocatalysis and nanobiotechnology He is the holder of 1 international patent and has given more than 15 invited talks in international conferences and >150 oral or poster presentations at international and national conferences. He has been and currently is the supervisor of 15 PhD and MSc theses in the University of Ioannina. Finally, he has participated as Principal Investigator, main researcher or Program coordinator in more than 25 funded European and National (Greek) programmes. Finally, he is a member of the editorial board of 3 international journals (Frontiers in Materials, ISRN Biotechnology and Nanomedicine Research Journal)
