Zissis

Mamouris

Professor, Rector, University of Thessaly

Zissis Mamouris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology (Department of Biology, AUTh), Master and Ph.D. in Genetics (PARIS 7 University). He is a Professor of Genetics at the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology and the Rector of the University of Thessaly (UTH). He is the Head of the Research Committee of UTH and in parallel he is a Member of the GSRT National Science Sector Council for Life Sciences and Head of the Regional Research and Innovation Council as well as Vice-Rector of Research. Since 1990 he has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in 5 Departments and 6 Programmes of Postgraduate Studies, supervised 4 Doctoral Theses and currently he supervises 5 Doctoral Theses. Finally, he is a member of the Supervisory Board of 16 Doctoral Theses (12 have been successfully supported).

He has participated in 49 research projects (Coordinator in 20), authored 114 Publications in international journals (Citations=2008, h=28), acted as a reviewer in 50 international scientific journals and as a member of the Editorial Committee in other two. He has written two scientific textbooks and had the general editing of the Greek edition of a third one.
